2 weeks to go RUSH

Last weekend I went back to Primrose to try to finish all the big projects. We got all of the programs printed Sunday night and Monday, we had a party. My Aunt Theresa and Regina came to help me and my parents, along with my Grandma Mary and towards the end my two cousins, Jordan and Justin. We did everything from cutting, folding, and tieing ribbons on the programs, to working on those awesome blue table runners. I'm very excited about the table runners...I think they will look awesome. Some people looked thrilled as you can see but others....not so much. :) After a long day Monday, we pretty much got everything done, so I could breathe a little better this week. I'm so grateful for everybody's help!

Eric and I are spending our last weekend as a engaged couple....where of all places?? Kansas State Track in Wichita. I hear the pool calling...I wish these people would run faster :) Actually we have had some pretty memorable moments here, all from the elevator breaking down, to tornadoes, to this weekend in 90 degree weather. I think we went through our whole bottle of spf 50 sunscreen. ha!

~Meet the Wedding Party~

2 1/2 weeks to go! Time really does fly by! Eric and I thought we would introduce you to our wedding party. Some are long time friends/family and some new, but they have been by our side when we've needed it most and enjoyed many laughs, hopefully many more yet to come.

~The girls~ by Angie

Maid of Honor: Jenna Loeffler
Jenna and I have been friends since the second grade. There have been so many slumber parties, getting ready for Jr high & high school dances, and nights out on the town in college that we have some great memories to look back on. She's been like a sister to me. She is also getting married this summer and so we have been having a lot of fun planning our weddings together. She lives in Fullerton, NE.

Maid of Honor: Jenny Towey
Jenny and I went to grade school together, but really started hanging out in high school. She too has been like a sister to me. Hanging out in the summers and going on some road trips, we have some awesome memories to reminisce about. She will always be my wife (per a high school psychology class) :) She lives in Omaha, NE.

Bridesmaid: Michelle (Kolm) Barnds
Michelle and I also went to grade school together. We really didn't hang out a lot till college when we became roommates. We were roommates in Lincoln for 3 years and we had a blast. She was the best roommate and friend! I'm so happy she can be apart of our wedding as she just had her first baby girl this past Thursday! She and her husband Matt lives in Olathe, KS.

Bridesmaid: Becky Hupp
Becky and I were in the same business/accounting classes at UNL. We made it through the many classes together, no matter how crazy the professor, and have been friends ever since. She lives in Denver, CO.

Bridesmaid: Lyndee (Krepcik) Koch
Lyndee and I also met in a class at UNL. We are so much alike, so we hit it off right away. We had so much fun just hanging out and going to the football games to watch her husband play. She and her husband, Brandon and little boy, Tristan live in Gothenburg, NE.

Flower Girl: Addison Chapman
Addison is the daughter of Tony (Eric's cousin) and Kerry Chapman of Grand Island, NE. She is the big sister of Olivia and Ella and loves Hannah Montana. She is going to be so cute and we are excited to have her as one of our flower girls.

Flower Girl: Londyn Chapman
Londyn is the daughter of Tyler (Eric's cousin) and Latisha Chapman of Wichita, KS. She is enjoying her newly decorated "Minnie Mouse" room and loves been the big sister of Sydney. She is going to be adorable and we can't wait to have her as our other flower girl.

~The boys~ by Eric

Best man: Aaron Allgood
Aaron's been my brother for as long as I can remember. Through every game of basement basektball, to round of golf, to, yes all those fights, there's no one else I'd rather have next to me on June 6. Aaron lives in Lincoln, and attends UNL.

Groomsman: Conrad Saltzgaber
Don't worry about trying to pronounce his last name, I just call him "C." A hall mate in the dorms at Nebraska-Kearney freshman year, and later a roommate in the house, C and I have had some times, as the saying goes. The first to give me the nickname Spoon, Conrad lives with his wife Ashley in Lincoln.

Groomsman: Tyler Chapman
Easily the "Ty Webb" of the family (that's a Caddyshack reference, if you didn't know), Ty is my cousin. Forever linked to the day in the snow at York Country Club (Ty shot 35, I shot 49), we each qualified for the State Golf Tourney in 1998. (Instantly, Ty feels older, as if changing diapers didn't do that already!) Ty and Tish live in Wichita with their two girls, the afore mentioned Londyn, and Sydney.

Groomsman: Adam Wegner
"Wags" was "C's" roommate freshman year, and then "keeper of the house." He and his folks were kind enough to give me a place to live my last two years of college. I also gotta give him props; it was him that let me sit in on his radio show for the college station, peaked my interest in radio, and here I am today! Adam still resides in "the house" (though a nice remodeling project is ongoing) in Kearney.

Groomsman: Tim Garman
The mayor of Courtland (no, really he is!), Tim is quickly surpassing Aaron as the guy I've played the most golf with. Like any good freindship, I don't really remember why we started playing, we just did. Tim has also been a color man for basketball for just about every game I've done in Belleville, and has been a frequent "commenter" on both this and my sports blog. Tim lives with his wife Kerri in Courtland, KS.

Ring Bearer: Mason Johnson
Cory (my cousin) and Leslie's oldest boy, Mason gets the honor of walking up with Addison and Londyn. He likes the movie "Cars," loves playing with older sister Taylor and younger brother Clayton, and was the recipent of a football thrown to him by Nebraska DB's coach Marvin Sanders at this years spring game! They live in Gretna, NE.

Golfing on Friday

A heads up to anyone who will be in the Albion area Friday morning June 5. We're playing golf that morning, probably about 10am or so. If you are going to play, let me know ASAP so we can get some tee times. Those who can/want to are playing 18, but I know Angie and some bridesmaids are doing their nails in the afternoon and are skipping out after 9. Let me know in the comments or send me an email!

MMMMM MINTS

What is a reception without homemade cream cheese mints? Thats right, we got together and had a mint making party. Many white and green mints were made, each color a different flavor. It took us a while to figure out which molds work and which ones didn't, of course you can't remold them...thats just silly...you eat them. 1260 mints later...we had enough. It was a lot of fun and thank you guys for helping.

Eric's thoughts: Powdered sugar, cream cheese and flavoring went into a bowl. Beaten and battered, only 1260 mints made it out alive... (Cue dramatic music)

I finally got to see my dress!

A few weekends ago I got to see my dress...in person...finally! It has been a bit challenging trying to get away from work. My mom, Jenny, and Jenna (my two maids of honor) came with me. Luckily the bridesmaid dresses came in the day before, so they got try on their dresses too. We took pictures together in our dresses but you just get to see their picture. I'm so excited, I love the dresses. After they let me parade around the bridal store for like an hour we had to go home to make wedding mints...to be continued

Flower girls

Lately I have been trying to accumulate all of the accessories needed for my flower girls. Most of you know, we are having two flower girls who are both Eric's 2nd cousins. They are very close in age and will make adorable additions to our wedding party. I'm very excited because I have found dresses for each of them. The dress are similar but different enough to give some personality. Just last night we received the flower girl baskets in the mail. Poor Eric... I was very excited as I opened the packages. The baskets are soo cute and elegant and I just wanted to carry it around all night. I may have to order another so I can carry one up! Just kidding. My bridal bouquet will be exquisite, but that is for another blog. So between the dresses and the baskets everything is coming together, however, I have a few more accessories to add to the picture so the fun is still coming. Tax season is well under way so I am definitely testing my organizational skills that is for sure!

The Cake

Most of you know that I have a little side business of cake decorating, and though many of you think I'm crazy, I am doing my own wedding cake. I've been decorating cakes since high school, so during that time, you would think I have had my wedding cake picked for a while. Well...that is not the case. Eric knew exactly what he wanted. Can anybody guess? Memorial Stadium GO BIG RED! So I'm getting all of his details hashed out. I think this stadium cake pan will help tremendously. I also have a few tricks up my sleeve that even the groom might not know about. hmmm... So after many nights of searching I have a vision of my cake. Actually it is a combination of a these pictures. I definitely know I want the layers stacked directly on top of each other. With traditional round layers I think it will have a simple yet elegant appeal to it. I love this brown one with the scrolls. I'm not really a lot of flowers on the cake kinda girl but definitely love scrollies. This other cake is going to be the base of my idea. I love how the color shows through on the bottom of the layers. With my colors as royal blue and ivory, I think it will look so vibrant. Now the trick is to not make everyone's mouth blue hehehe. Hopefully that gives you an idea of the look I'm going for and task I am undertaking. Because I can not come up with the actual picture, you will definitely have to make sure to check out the cake.
